Color is all around us. Everything that we are involved in has color. Because of this, it is important to know what colors mean according to psychology experts. Knowing what colors mean can help you choose the colors you want for your products, your business, your brand, posters, or anything dealing with color.
Over these next few months, every month we will have one blog devoted to color. Color is important in the printing industry, and this is one of our main reasons to focus on color so heavily. This week we are going to look at blue and what this colors means, who uses it for their business, and the different shades of these colors. Blue is the color of our logo at Wes-Tex Printing, so this is why we are starting with it!
Positives:
Blue can be seen as trust, honest, dependable, cool, calming, reducing fear and tension.
Negatives:
Sometimes blue can be seen as too conservative, unforgiving, boring, or deceitful.
Companies who choose blue?
Companies that have anything to do with water, air, medicine, technology, corporate businesses, or male products are more likely going to use blue with their business.
It is important to know what the color you choose for your business means. If your business is directed towards men, then it would not make as much sense to have pink on every aspect of the product. Color can make a huge change on your marketing efforts.
Dark blue vs. light blue?
Light blue is seen more with health organizations, travel, or relaxation. Dark blue is more affiliated with politics, religion, and the feelings of integrity and honesty.
